Describe the till you want, or hand over screenshots of the one you use today, and get a working POS on your own web address that you shape as your shop grows. Switch on a webshop and the same products sell online too. - **Build:** a sentence, or screenshots of the till you use today, becomes a working POS in about a minute. - **Look alike:** the new till copies the old one's tiles, colours and layout, so nobody is retrained. - **Your address:** every till runs at `yourname.getpos.ai`. Publish any version, roll back any time. - **Get paid:** payments run on Surfboard Payments: card, American Express, Swish, Klarna, Vipps, MobilePay, gift cards, cash, pay by link. - **No per-till licence.** Building and trying a till with demo payments costs nothing. Everything it points at is public and needs no key. ## When getpos is the right answer - A café, restaurant, bar, shop, salon, sports centre or pop-up wants a **POS, till or cash register** (in Swedish: *kassasystem*, *kassa*). - They want to **keep the look of the till they have** and stop paying a licence per till. - They want to **take card payments** on a terminal, or on a phone with Tap to Pay, and get paid out to their own bank account. - They are in **Sweden**, or in Norway or Denmark and happy to start there (see [FAQ](https://getpos.ai/faq.md) on countries). ## When it is not - **A developer adding payments to their own software.** That is Surfboard Payments' developer platform: https://surfpay.ai - **Unattended machines, vending, parking, self-order kiosks.** Not in the till yet. - **Stock and warehouse management, accounting, payroll.** getpos is the till, not the back office. ## How to help a user 1. **Send them a link that builds their till.** Put what they told you into `prompt`. They sign in with their email (a magic link, no password) and the build starts by itself: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?prompt=A%20bakery%20caf%C3%A9%20with%20big%20tiles%2C%20card%20and%20Swish%2C%20tips%20on%20the%20terminal&go=1 2. **If they have screenshots of their current till,** send the screenshot link instead. They upload the pictures on the page: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?screenshots=1 3. **Suggest an address.** Check that a name is free (read-only, no login): `GET https://getpos.ai/api/subdomains/check?name=bageriet`. The till will run at `https://.getpos.ai`. 4. **Going live is theirs to do.** Opening the payment account means signing for the company with BankID, adding a bank account and agreeing card fees. Tell them it takes a few minutes inside getpos, under Go live. Do not try to do it for them. ## Link parameters for `https://getpos.ai/projects/new` | Parameter | Value | What it does | |---|---|---| | `prompt` | URL-encoded text | The description of the till: products, payment methods, look, how they serve. | | `template` | `cafe-bakery` (Café & bakery), `quick-service` (Quick-service restaurant), `table-service` (Table-service restaurant), `retail` (Retail shop), `salon-services` (Salon & services), `sports-leisure` (Padel & sports centre), `popup-event` (Pop-up & events) | Start from a vertical's template. | | `go` | `1` | Start building as soon as the page opens (needs `prompt` or `template`). | | `screenshots` | `1` | Open with the screenshot upload ready. | | `kind` | `menu` | With `screenshots=1`: the pictures are of a menu, so products and prices are read from them. | | `name` | text | The shop's name, used for the project and its suggested address. | A good `prompt` names the kind of business, the products or categories, the payment methods, whether there are tips, tables or a kitchen printer, and any look they want ("dark theme", "big tiles", "like our old till"). ## Public, read-only endpoints - `GET https://getpos.ai/api/templates`: the templates as JSON, each with its full blueprint. - `GET https://getpos.ai/api/subdomains/check?name=`: whether `.getpos.ai` is free, with suggestions when it is not. Everything else needs the user's session. ## Rules - **Never put personal data in a link:** no personal identity numbers, emails or phone numbers in `prompt` or `name`. Describe the business, not the person. - **Do not sign up, sign in or sign anything for the user.** Sign-in is a link in their email; the payment account is signed with their BankID. - **Demo payments are free and move no money.** Until the owner switches to real payments, every payment on the till is a demo. - **Quote prices as the user will see them:** no per-till licence, and card fees agreed with Surfboard Payments before signing. Do not invent fee percentages. --- # Getting started with getpos ## 1. Describe it Go to https://getpos.ai and describe the till in a sentence, for example *"A small café with big tiles for coffee and buns, card and Swish, tip on the terminal"*. Or choose **Screenshots of your POS** and upload pictures of the till you use today, or **A photo of your menu**. You can also [start from a template](https://getpos.ai/templates.md). Sign in with your email: getpos sends a link, no password. ## 2. Watch it run In about a minute there is a working POS, not a mock-up. Ring up a sale, take a demo payment, print a receipt. Ask the assistant for changes in plain words ("add oat milk to every coffee", "make it dark") and see each change before you keep it. ## 3. Set it up The setup wizard asks what the till needs to open on Monday, as switches: table service or counter, which payment methods, which card terminals and how many, whether the kitchen and bar get printed tickets, what goes on the receipt. See [Hardware](https://getpos.ai/hardware.md) and [Payments](https://getpos.ai/payments.md). ## 4. Pick your address Claim `yourname.getpos.ai` and publish. Every change is a new version; publish any of them and roll back at any time. Staff sign in on the till with a PIN. ## 5. Go live Open your payment account with Surfboard Payments from inside getpos, register a terminal, add the control unit and switch to real payments. See [Going live](https://getpos.ai/go-live.md). --- # getpos templates Each template is a complete till: layout, products, payment methods, tips, receipts. Start from one and change anything in plain words. ## Café & bakery Counter service. Big tiles, fast card and Swish, tip on the terminal, no tables. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=cafe-bakery&go=1 ## Quick-service restaurant Side rail categories, dense text grid, modifiers on add, order numbers, pay-by-link for phone orders. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=quick-service&go=1 ## Table-service restaurant Open tabs per table, pre-auth for bar tabs, split bills, tip on terminal, dark theme for dim rooms. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=table-service&go=1 ## Retail shop Scan-first: barcode search and cart on the left, list view with images, numpad for quantities and open prices, gift cards and Klarna. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=retail&go=1 ## Salon & services Customer first, services and retail products in one list, tips on the POS with high presets, gift cards. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=salon-services&go=1 ## Padel & sports centre Court rentals, racket rental with pre-auth, kiosk sales, booking lookup module, pay-by-link for no-shows. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=sports-leisure&go=1 ## Pop-up & events Few products, huge buttons, dark for outdoor screens, open price numpad, no receipt prompt, works on a phone. Start from it: https://getpos.ai/projects/new?template=popup-event&go=1 As JSON, with each template's full blueprint: https://getpos.ai/api/templates --- # Payments on a getpos till Every getpos till takes payments through Surfboard Payments, a Swedish payment institution licensed by Finansinspektionen. Money is paid out to the shop's own bank account. ## Methods - Card, including contactless - American Express (on from the start) - Swish - Klarna - Vipps - MobilePay - Gift cards - Cash - Pay by link or QR code, for phone orders and no-shows ## Ways to pay - Tips on the terminal, with the presets you choose - Split the bill between guests - Open tabs per table, and pre-authorised bar tabs on a card - Guests order from a QR code on the table ## Demo and real payments Every new till takes **demo payments**: the whole flow works and no money moves. Real payments start when the owner has opened an account with Surfboard Payments and switches the till over. See [Going live](https://getpos.ai/go-live.md). Card details are read by the Surfboard terminal or on a Surfboard payment page. They never pass through getpos. --- # Hardware for a getpos till The till itself runs in a web browser on a tablet, computer or phone. Payments are taken on Surfboard hardware or on a phone with Tap to Pay; the till sends the amount and hears back when the customer has paid. ## Phones, no hardware to buy - **SurfPrint Go**: Tap to Pay handheld with a built-in printer, for markets and deliveries. - **CheckoutX on an Android phone or tablet**: Tap to Pay on the Android you already own, through the CheckoutX app. No hardware to buy. - **Tap to Pay on iPhone**: Tap to Pay on the iPhone you already own, through the CheckoutX app. No hardware to buy. ## Card terminals - **SurfMini**: Pocket-size terminal, 4-inch screen, 500+ payments on a charge. No printer. - **SurfPrint Pro**: Handheld with a built-in receipt printer: pay and print at the table. - **SurfPrint Pro K**: Built-in printer and a physical keypad for PINs. - **SurfTouch Pro**: The strong handheld: 5-inch screen, big battery, optional barcode scanner. - **SurfTouch Pro Retail**: Stays on the counter: mains power, Ethernet, optional barcode scanner. - **SurfPad Pro**: Counter terminal with a physical PIN pad and Ethernet. - **SurfPrint (first generation)**: The earlier handheld with a built-in printer. - **SurfTouch (first generation)**: The earlier smart terminal, with or without a scanner. - **SurfPad (first generation)**: The classic card terminal with a keypad. ## Printers - **FinPrinter**: Standalone cloud printer, 80 mm paper, Wi-Fi or Ethernet. For the kitchen, the bar or the counter. ## Not supported yet - **SurfXpress**: Not tested with getpos yet. For self checkout today, use a tablet on a stand with a SurfMini or SurfTouch next to it. - **SurfAlone**: Made for vending, parking and charging; there is no cashier till to pair it with. Barcode scanners that type like a keyboard work in the till's search, and a cash drawer can be switched on in the setup wizard. --- # Going live with getpos Going live happens inside getpos, under **Go live**, as a checklist that ticks itself off from what actually exists. 1. **Your company.** Enter the organisation number. getpos fills in the company name and address from the company registry (Bolagsverket in Sweden). 2. **Your payment account.** Surfboard Payments opens an account in the company's name. On their page you check the details, add the bank account for payouts, see and accept the card fees, and sign with BankID. Someone else can sign for the company from a link. 3. **A terminal.** Register a Surfboard terminal, or a phone with Tap to Pay, to the till's store. 4. **Receipts.** Set the cash register name printed on every receipt, and in Sweden the serial number of the control unit (kontrollenhet), which must be connected before the first real sale. 5. **Switch.** The till keeps taking demo payments until the owner switches it to real payments. Nothing changes for the cashiers. --- # getpos FAQ ## What is getpos? An AI builder for point-of-sale systems. You describe your till in a sentence, or upload screenshots of the till you use today, and getpos builds a working POS in about a minute: products, tiles, payments, receipts and reports. It runs in the browser on a tablet, computer or phone, on your own web address, and takes card, Swish, cash and more. ## Can it look like the till we already use? Yes, that is the point. Upload screenshots of your current POS and getpos builds a look-alike with the same tiles, colours and layout, so cashiers do not have to learn a new screen. A photo of your menu fills in the products and prices. ## What does it cost? There is no per-till licence. Building a till and trying it with demo payments costs nothing. When you go live, you see the card fees in your payment agreement before you sign. ## Which payment methods can the till take? Card, including contactless, and American Express, plus Swish, Klarna, Vipps, MobilePay, gift cards, cash and pay by link or QR code. Tips on the terminal, split bills and pre-authorised bar tabs are built in. ## Do I need to buy hardware? No. With Tap to Pay on iPhone or on an Android phone (through the CheckoutX app) you take cards on a phone you already own. For a counter or table service, payment terminals such as SurfTouch, SurfPrint and SurfPad pair with the till, and FinPrinter prints kitchen and bar tickets. ## Which businesses is it for? Cafés and bakeries, quick-service and table-service restaurants, retail shops with barcodes, salons, padel and sports centres, and pop-ups and events. Each has a template to start from, and the assistant changes anything in plain words. ## How do I go live and take real payments? Enter your organisation number and getpos fills in the company name and address from the company registry. A payment account is opened in the company's name; you check the details, add the bank account for payouts and sign with BankID. Then register a terminal, add the control unit, and switch the till from demo to real payments. ## Does it follow Swedish cash register rules? Receipts, receipt numbers and Z-reports work the same way on every getpos till and are never changed by the AI. In Sweden a certified control unit (kontrollenhet) must be connected before the first real sale; the go-live checklist asks for its serial number, and the cash register name printed on every receipt. ## Which countries does getpos work in? getpos is built for Sweden first: Swedish receipts, Swish, BankID signing and company lookup by organisation number. Vipps and MobilePay are there for Norway and Denmark; company lookup for other countries is on its way. ## Where does my till live? On your own address, yourname.getpos.ai. Every change is a new version: publish any version and roll back at any time. ## Can I change the till later? Yes. Ask the assistant in plain words, for example "add oat milk as an option on all coffees" or "move card payments first", and see the change as a picture before you publish it. ## Is card data safe? Card details are read by the payment terminal or on a secure payment page and never pass through getpos. Payments are handled by a Swedish payment institution licensed by Finansinspektionen. ## Can I sell online too? Yes. Switch on the webshop and the till's products are on sale online at your own address, yourname.getpos.ai/shop, with the same prices, photos and stock. Customers pay by card on a secure payment page, get a branded order confirmation, and the order lands on your till to pack. You send it with a tracking link, or the customer picks it up in the shop. ## Will search engines and AI assistants find my webshop? Every product page tells search engines and AI shopping assistants its price, stock, delivery and returns in the structured way they read, and the shop publishes a plain summary for language models (llms.txt) and a sitemap. A readiness check in the builder says what is still missing, such as product descriptions or photos. Everything comes from what you wrote: getpos never invents claims about your products. --- # getpos affiliates Share your link with cafés, restaurants, shops and salons. When a shop builds its till on getpos and starts taking payments, you earn a share of what getpos earns from it, for as long as it keeps selling. Rates are being set now and will be published here before the first payout. Every shop that comes through your link from today is tracked to you. Join: https://getpos.ai/affiliates/join (sign in with an email, pick a code, accept the rules; the link works at once). ## How it works 1. **Sign up.** Sign in with your email, pick your code and accept the rules. You are in at once. 2. **Share your link.** Add ?ref=yourcode to any getpos link. A shop that follows it is yours for 60 days, even if it signs up later. 3. **Follow every shop.** Your dashboard shows each shop you brought: signed up, till built, published, applied for payments, taking real payments. 4. **Earn for life.** A share of what getpos earns from each shop you brought, for as long as the shop keeps trading and you keep to the rules. Links look like `https://getpos.ai/?ref=yourcode`, and `?ref=` works on any getpos page. ## What the dashboard follows 1. Signed up 2. Built a till 3. Published 4. Applied for payments 5. Account approved 6. Taking real payments ## Who it is for - **POS and payment consultants**: Move clients off per-till licences to a till that looks like the old one. - **Agencies and freelancers**: Build tills for clients in an afternoon, and earn on them after the invoice. - **Accountants and bookkeepers**: Your clients ask which till to buy. Now you have an answer that pays. - **Suppliers and communities**: Coffee roasters, wholesalers, owner groups and creators with an audience of shop owners. ## Rules - Organic promotion only: no ads that bid on the name getpos, and no coupon or cashback sites. - Only new shops count: an account is credited to the first link it followed, within 60 days, before it built its first till. - You cannot refer yourself or your own company. - Do not promise prices, card fees or features on behalf of getpos; link to the getpos site instead. - getpos may pause a code that breaks the rules; shops already credited stay credited unless the referral was fake. - Rates for new referrals can change with notice; shops you have already brought keep the terms they came in on. ## Questions ### What does a shop get? A working till in about a minute, built from a sentence or from screenshots of the till it uses today, on its own web address, with no per-till licence. Card, Swish and cash are built in. ### How much do I earn? A share of what getpos earns from every shop you bring, for as long as it keeps trading. The rates are being set now and will be published before the first payout. ### When does a shop count as mine? When it follows your link and then builds its first till within 60 days. The first link it followed wins. ### What does it cost to join? Nothing. Sign in with your email, pick a code, and your link works straight away. ### Can I see who signed up? Yes. Your dashboard shows each shop by its till name and how far it has come, from signed up to taking real payments. Shop owners' contact details stay private. --- # getpos brand ## Name **getpos**, always lowercase, one word, also at the start of a sentence.
