# Payments on a getpos till

> Payment methods, tips, split bills, tabs and pay by link, all through Surfboard Payments.

Every getpos till takes payments through Surfboard Payments, a Swedish payment institution licensed by Finansinspektionen. Money is paid out to the shop's own bank account.

## Methods

- Card, including contactless
- American Express (on from the start)
- Swish
- Klarna
- Vipps
- MobilePay
- Gift cards
- Cash
- Pay by link or QR code, for phone orders and no-shows

## Ways to pay

- Tips on the terminal, with the presets you choose
- Split the bill between guests
- Open tabs per table, and pre-authorised bar tabs on a card
- Guests order from a QR code on the table

## Demo and real payments

Every new till takes **demo payments**: the whole flow works and no money moves. Real payments start when the owner has opened an account with Surfboard Payments and switches the till over. See [Going live](https://getpos.ai/go-live.md).

Card details are read by the Surfboard terminal or on a Surfboard payment page. They never pass through getpos.
