Selling
Eat in or take away
How to ask "eat in or take away" on every sale, what the choice does on the bong and the receipt, and how to sell some products only one way.
The till can ask on every sale whether the guest eats in or takes away. The choice prints on the kitchen bong, so the kitchen knows whether to plate or pack.
Switch it on (owner)
- In the builder, open Features, How you serve.
- Switch on Eat in or take away.
- Under What the cashier can choose, pick the options: Eat in, Take away and Delivery.
- Save and publish.
On the till
Above the lines on the ticket there is a row with the options, for example Eat in and Take away. Each new ticket starts on the shop's default. Tap the other option when the guest wants it. You can change it at any time until you press pay.
The choice:
- prints big on the bong, see Kitchen tickets,
- prints on the receipt when the till uses its own receipt layout, and on the pickup slip,
- is saved with the sale.
Some tills show their own words on the ticket instead, such as "Here" and "To go". They work the same way.
Sell a product only one way
Some products are only for eating in, or only for taking away. Open the product under Products in the builder. Under Where it is sold, For, tick the ways it is sold. See Where products are sold.
If a ticket holds a product that is not sold for the chosen option, the till stops the payment and names it, for example "Soup is not sold for this order (Take away)". Remove the line or change the option, then pay again.
Guests ordering on their phone
When guests order from a QR code, their phone asks Eat in or take away too, and the choice reaches the bong the same way. See Guest ordering.
