Give a discount

How to take a percentage off one line or a percentage or amount off the whole ticket, and what to do when the till says a manager is needed.

You can take a percentage off one line, or a percentage or an amount off the whole ticket. The discount shows on the ticket, prints on the receipt and is counted under Discounts given in the Z-report.

Discount on one line

  1. Tap the line on the ticket. Its tools open.
  2. Press % off.
  3. Tap 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 50 %, or type your own percentage and press Apply.

The old price is struck through and the new one is shown beside it. To take it away again, open the line, press % off and then Remove.

Discount on the whole ticket

  1. Next to Discount above the total, press Add. (Some tills also have a Discount button among the action buttons.)
  2. Tap a percentage, type one in the % box, or type an amount in the box for an amount off.
  3. Pick a reason if you want one: Staff, Regular, Goodwill, Damaged or Campaign. It prints on the receipt with the discount.
  4. Press Apply.

To change or remove it, press Change next to Discount, then a new value or Remove.

When a manager is needed

How big a discount a cashier may give is the owner's choice. In the standard setup a cashier can give up to 50 kr per discount alone. Above that the till says That is above what a cashier can do on their own.

The discount screen does not ask for a manager's PIN. Lock the till, let the manager sign in with their PIN and give the discount, then sign in again yourself. The ticket stays on the till.

Set the limits (owner)

In the builder, open Rules, Who may do what. Choose the role Cashier and the action Give a discount, then set Without a manager PIN up to (kr). Managers and owners can give any discount unless a rule says otherwise. See Roles and permissions.

Prices that change by themselves at set times, such as happy hour, are not discounts. See Campaign prices.
