When something goes wrong
When the till is offline
What still works when the internet drops, what waits until it is back, and what to do.
When the connection drops, the till shows Offline at the top. It keeps running: the menu and the layout are saved on the device. Cash sales go on as normal. Card payments need the internet and wait until it is back.
What works offline
- Cash sales. They are saved on the device and marked as waiting. The top of the till shows how many, for example Offline · 3 queued, and Settings shows the number waiting to sync.
- Signing in, for people who have signed in on this device before.
- Opening a shift. It is registered on the server once you are back online.
- Cash refunds.
What waits for the connection
- Card, Swish and other terminal payments. The till says Offline: card payments need the terminal online.
- Payment links, refunds to a card or an app, and voids.
- Printing. Receipts and kitchen tickets cannot reach the printer.
- Closing the shift. The Z report is locked on the server, so every waiting sale must be sent first.
When the connection is back
Waiting sales are sent by themselves within a few seconds. Check that the queued number has gone. Receipts for sales made offline come from the till's own record.
What to do
- Check the Wi-Fi or mobile data on the device.
- Restart the router if other devices are offline too.
- Keep selling for cash, and tell card customers it will be a moment.
- Do not close the shift or clear the browser data while sales are waiting: they live on this device until they are sent.
Installing the till on the home screen helps it start without a connection. See Devices and installing the till.
