Getting started
Languages on the till and in the builder
How to choose the language of the builder, the till, a single device and the guest ordering page.
getpos speaks five languages: English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish. The builder, the till, each device and the guest ordering page can each have their own.
The builder
Use the globe button with the language code in the top bar, for example on the Your tills page. The workspace follows the same choice. Only your own view changes, not the till.
The till
- In the builder, open Design, then Look.
- Choose a language under Language on the till.
- Save. The till's buttons, the PIN screen, receipts and the guest ordering page now use that language.
You can also ask the assistant, for example "The till should be in Danish".
Your own words are never translated: product names, categories, button labels you typed and screen titles stay exactly as you wrote them. If you want them in another language, change them yourself or ask the assistant to.
One device
A cashier who prefers another language can change it on their own device:
- On the till, open Settings.
- Choose a language under Language on this device. Same as the till goes back to the till's language.
Only that device changes. Receipts and kitchen tickets always print in the till's language, so the paper is the same whoever serves.
Guests ordering from their phone
The guest ordering page follows the language of the guest's phone when it is one of the five. Otherwise it uses the till's language.
Money
Prices and amounts follow your shop's country (kr or €), not the language. A Finnish-speaking device in a Swedish shop still shows kronor.
