Selling

Sell online with a webshop

Switch on a webshop with your till's products at your own address, shape its front page, shipping and policies, and choose which products are sold online.

Your till can sell online too. The webshop uses the same products and prices as the till, lives at your own address, and its orders land on the till to pack and send.

Switch it on

  1. In the builder, open your till and press Webshop in the rail.
  2. Press Switch on the webshop. It starts with a ready shop in your language: a big top, your categories, products, a few promises, common questions, home delivery and pickup in the shop.
  3. Save and publish. The shop is then open at your address with /shop at the end, such as yourname.getpos.ai/shop.

Customers see nothing until you save and publish. You can switch it off any time with Switch off the webshop.

The parts of the panel

  • Front page: the parts of the shop's first page. Add a part, move it up or down, or remove it. Press Pick a part above the shop on the right and click a part to edit it.
  • Words and contact: your tagline, an announcement bar, the story about the shop, and the email, phone and address customers see.
  • Look: accent colour, type, corners and the shape of product photos.
  • Shipping: ways to get the order, with a flat price including VAT, free over an amount if you like, how many days it takes and which countries you deliver to.
  • Checkout: whether to ask for a phone number, let businesses buy with a company name and VAT number, and let customers write a note.
  • Policies: how many days customers have to return a product (at least 14), and your returns, shipping, terms and privacy texts. A policy you leave empty shows a plain default with your name and return days.
  • Search listing: the title and the line under it that people see in Google.
  • Customer emails: which emails go out, and where replies land.

At the top of the panel, Ready for search gives a score out of 100. It lists what search engines and AI assistants still miss: a tagline, the About story, product descriptions and photos, barcodes, the search listing, a few questions answered, delivery days, your own returns policy and a way to reach you. Fix the top line first; each one raises the score.

Which products are sold online

Every product is in the webshop unless you say otherwise. To choose:

  1. Open the product under Products.
  2. Under Where it is sold, tick or untick In the webshop.

Products with an open price or sold by weight are not sold online. The product's own section In the webshop holds what customers read: a Description, More photos, Brand, Weight (grams) and Count stock. See Stock.

Ask the assistant

The assistant can do all of this too. Try "open a webshop" or "add a FAQ about delivery".

Payments and the books

Customers pay by card on Surfboard's secure payment page. A test till uses pretend payments, so nothing is charged. Webshop orders have their own numbers, starting at 1001. They are not cash register sales, so they are not in the Z-report. To pack and send them, see Pack and send webshop orders.
