Printers for receipts and kitchen tickets

The till prints on two kinds of printer. A card terminal with a built-in printer (the SurfPrint models) prints on a 58 mm roll, 32 characters a line, where the payment happens. A FinPrinter is a separate printer for the counter, the kitchen or the bar: 80 mm paper, 48 characters a line, and it cuts the ticket.

Choose what prints

In the builder, open Features:

• Kitchen and bar: choose Nothing goes to a kitchen, Show the bong on the till or Print it. With printing on, add Stations (kitchen, bar) with the categories each one makes, pick a printer for each, and set Copies of each bong.
• Receipts and paper: under Paper receipts choose Never, When the guest asks or After every sale. Under Who lays the receipt out, Surfboard's receipt prints on the terminal that took the payment, and Our own layout prints on any printer you connect, with your order number, header and Last line.

Until a printer is connected, kitchen tickets show on the till's screen, and paper receipts come from the card terminal if it has a printer. Email and QR receipts always work.

Connect a FinPrinter

A FinPrinter has no screen, so it is registered with the serial number on its back.

1. Plug it in and connect it to Wi-Fi or a network cable. It has to be online first.
2. In the builder, open Features, then Review and connect, and press Register the printer on its row. Or on the till: Settings, Add a terminal, then It has no screen (a FinPrinter).
3. Type the serial number and a name, and register it.
4. Press Test print. The test ticket shows a ruler, the letters å ä ö, the text sizes and a QR code.

A SurfPrint registers like any card terminal, with the code on its screen, and shows up as a printer by itself. See Connect a card terminal.

Printers on each device

On the till, Settings, Printers shows which printer prints the Receipt and each station's bongs on this device. Change a choice and press Test print to check it. A manager or owner can press Use for every till so every device in the shop prints there.

Good to know

• Paper always prints in the till's language, whatever language a device shows. See Languages.
• A cash drawer is opened with its key for now: the printers cannot open it yet.
